Here at West Chicago Printing, we are very proud of our relationship with the First Division Museum of Cantigny. We have been doing work with Cantigny for over twenty years. We are grateful for every kind of project we have been able to work on with them.

A Recent Work

Throughout the month of June, Steve at West Chicago Printing worked closely with representative Dave Blake from Cantigny on an invitation package. Dave has this to say about the project:

“Our team had a very special job we needed to get printed, a formal invitation to our Museum’s Grand Re-Opening. I sent bids out to printers as usual. In the end, it wasn’t just about price, it was about confidence in the printer to understand exactly what we wanted the finished product to look like. This was a letterpress job and many printers weren’t interested because a lot of it would have to be sent out or they didn’t quite understand why we were printing it that way. West Chicago Printing offered lots of advice throughout the job and understood exactly what we were looking for.”

Their unique project contained many parts. Some of these include two separate invitations for each part of their event, a perforated reply card and personalized envelopes to match. The package used a variety of print methods. A few of the methods used were digital addressing, offset gold ink, and of course, the letterpress imprint on a soft, textured cardstock. Steve was able to offer Dave quality advice and guidance that saw each part of the project through to completion.

Tree Green

Customer Spotlight: Tree Green

Here at West Chicago Printing, we get to work with all sorts of businesses. One of our customers, Tree Green, treats trees to make them healthy again. They need a variety of print to keep their business running at maximum efficiency. Since 2010 we have helped them improve and create flyers, forms, and pretty much everything else they need.

Many times, the reps at Tree Green stop in to meet over their projects. We discuss ideas together, laying out the text and design as a team. “We want to make sure they are completely satisfied with our products,” says Steve, the Vice President of West Chicago Printing.

What’s New with Tree Green?

What’s new? Tree Green’s latest project with us was an in-house Job Card. They are entering their busy season and needed to make a form that accommodates every aspect of their orders. The form needs to be easy to use, and able to hold a lot of information. We were able to work with them on their Job Cards on-screen in the design room in order to get the spacing and fields just right. No going back and forth with proofs, just getting the job done right.

We have had the pleasure of working with Webit since 2009. As they have grown in company identity, our team has worked with them through three relocations and three redesigns.

In each transition, Eric, the president of Webit, shares his visions for rebranding with our design team. By creating icons, imagery, and layouts, we are able to represent the core values of the company. Through the proofing process, we are able to achieve a new identity for the company that matches their growing mission.

The Pub of Wheaton College

The Pub: Wheaton’s Independent Academic Journal

Since 2012, West Chicago Printing has had the pleasure of working with the Pub of Wheaton College. Twice a year, the Pub releases a student-led journal for the attendees of Wheaton College. Twice a year, we have worked with them to meet their printing needs.

A few weeks ago, Ellen of the Pub came to us with a request for their latest edition. We prepared her files for printing and provided a proof before printing. We worked with her team to meet their tight schedule, and the booklets came out beautifully.

“Dear Dayna, I hope you’ll pass this on to Steve and the whole crew—we couldn’t be happier with how this issue turned out, and we were so grateful for your extra attention to our hectic schedule. It was an amazing turn-around and we were so proud to be able to release this beautiful copy before the end of the semester.”

The booklets have now been distributed, and we look forward to working with Wheaton College in the Spring semester.

 

Over the years, this perfect-bound book has ranged from 32 pages to over 100 pages. The matte finish provides a gentle sheen and a soft touch on the fingers. The inside pages are primarily black text but contain featured full-color pages with brilliant imagery. The hard spine and stock choices give this product a professional look and feel.

UL University

A Creative Idea Comes to Life!

Helen from UL University came to us this spring with an idea. Wouldn’t it be great if the members of the Global Leadership Program could get to know each other better by having a trading card of each UL employee? We thought this was a great idea. Helen provided our design team with a photograph of each employee, along with information about them such as their starting date at the company, their position, their hometown, their hobbies, and their favorite influential leaders. The West Chicago Printing team turned Helen’s collection of data into a collection of trading cards, color coordinated for each group within the program.

West Chicago Printing specializes in coming alongside their clients to grow ideas for print. UL University is a great example of a client who has had a variety of creative and unique marketing ideas, such as the trading cards. Our goal at West Chicago Printing is not only to provide our client with a quality product, but to walk alongside them throughout the creative process, discovering more about them and their company on the way. This has enabled our team to become personable with our customers and best understand what they are looking for in their design and printing needs.

Too Many Favorites

We are pleased to be able to serve such a variety of customers, with a variety of needs. We have partnerships with new and old clients alike. Helping new companies start up, like Bartlett Dental, is an exciting venture. We also enjoy becoming a provider for longstanding organizations, such as Cantigny.  Some customers have a single annual project, like UL University. Others order a vast array of  items, like Tree Green.
